same likeALEC LIGHTWOOD IN COB WAS A SCARED, CLOSETED TEENAGER WITH SELF-ESTEEM ISSUES LIVING IN A SOCIETY THAT TAUGHT HIM TO HATE EVERYTHING ABOUT HIMSELF AND THEN CLARY WALTZES IN (luv u clary but 4 real) AND STARTS FUCKING SHIT UP WITHIN THE ONLY STABILITY HE HAS AND MAKES HIS BEST FRIEND/GUY HE LOVES DO DUMB DANGEROUS SHIT. OFC HE’S GOING TO BE A TAD MOODY I WILL FIGHT. (also like?? cassandra clare made all this p clear too? w/o actually spelling it out how could she have been more obvious?)

i don’t actually like matthew as alec and i didn’t exactly DISlike it until people started behaving this way because like?? y’all were calling alec whiny and an asshole and talking copious amounts of shit about one of the first characters i ever read about that i could relate to and it hurt me and it irritated me and NOW they cast someone you think is hot as him and suddenly you’re singing a new tune? nope.

same, anon same. and the thing that annoyed me the most is those people actually admit that they never like Alec before matt was casted, like nope stay in your fucking lane and away from my son (btw, not that i dislike matt, i think he is gorgeous but i still prefer dylan sprayberry as alec)

CC’s books are actually full of hidden homophobia, racism, misogyny and slutshaming ( check snarktheater and terresdebrume blogs ) or read the article ” Cassandra Clare proves that all inclusion isn’t good “. Her ‘ inclusion ‘ is not what she thinks.

yeah yeah i know, you must be the 95486393763829th anon that tell me about Clare’s past and problems with her books, and there are some points i agree with and some i’m not. Still it doesn’t mean everything that come from her are wrong and all things she did are evil :

Google Cassandra Clare cyberbully, plagiarist, laptopgate and cassiegate. She is a bully and a thief. Her books are full of homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, misogyny, sexism and racism. Google Cassandra Clare proves that all inclusion isn’t good.

Well i do know about all of these and i think some are true, some are not and some are debatable so i’m not gonna discuss it coz it will be hella long and lead nowhere as usual. I don’t care about Clare or any of her other books & most of her characters tbh, but as long as she still writes about Malec, I guess I’m still stuck with her :/

It’s super common for people auditioning for a role to not know much about the movie/tv show. For instance, Charlie Cox didn’t know daredevil was blind when he went in for the audition. Actors want to get roles, they don’t have time to become experts on the background of a part they may or may not get. Most of them will probably read the books as they film, so they know what to expect, but actors are busy people. Hell, there are Harry Potter actors that didn’t read the books first.

Ah yeah, i thought so too. I just think that if they spend a little bit more time learning about the character it would help to increase the chance to get the role, like when we study a company’s background to get ready for an interview. But i guess it’s different in the acting world
