rewatching shadowhunters and ughhhhhh there are just no words to describe how much I hate Clary’s “I don’t give a shit about you and your rules and the consequences of my reckless actions, but you must help me” attitude. These people saved her and instead of thanking them and begging for help she DEMANDS it and acts like THEY dragged her into this mess

Okay I’m not trying by say you are wrong but Magnus and Alec’s relationship in the books was rushed also. they already had their first kiss after they only met once and show is going way slower than the books did in my opinion they might not being slow enough for my liking but definitely slower than the books.
You know, had they kissed during their second meeting in the show, what’s happening now in would actually makes sense and Magnus’s reaction would actually be reasonable
And the book is completely different, cause in the book Alec’s only problem was being gay and coming out. Here he has responsibilities and fully realises magnitute of his decisions. So comparing show with the book is not exactly right imo
not to mention, in the book Magnus saved Alec from a life threatening situation and they already showed a lot of chemistry and understanding in their first meeting at Magnus’ party. Honestly i don’t understand why show supporters keep telling everyone the show is different from books, only to compare it to the books every time someone points out something wrong with it
I feel like the only place where the TMI movie didn’t fuck up was having Godfrey Gao play Magnus.
Alec “Jace is dead to me” Lightwood couldn’t be further away from the book!Alec and that just makes me sad. why did they have to go and ruin this amazing character?

omg, did people actually say that??? i had no idea yikes. seriously, clary and jace are cringe worthy like they are so obnoxious and so badly written i cannot believe people would genuinely like jace being a total asshole to his family and illogically following bland af clary around when he just met her and it is so nonsensical it looks like a sire bond from tvd, or clary being so hostile and not listening to people who actually know the shadow world and constantly getting them in trouble + telling a boy “i know ur gay!! BUSTED!! u like jace too bad i have known him for a day and i say he is STRAIGHT srry not sorry he likes meeee”
i despise her tbh and I see why some people would think she is brave or whatever—- but for people who haven’t read the books, all they see is a super entitled girl who knows nothing but gets everyone to follow her around while she makes obnoxious statements about everyone and tells a gay boy who dislikes her for good reason and is clearly not at terms with it that he is “busted”. yeah idk how anyone can like her, or at least praise those actions.
