A lot of us will be reading City of Heavenly Fire in 11 days, but since non US American fans often have to wait a while until they can read the English version – shipping takes some time depending on the country you live in – I suggest we set some rules for our fandom like we did for Clockwork Princess last year.
When you have finished reading City of Heavenly Fire and you post about it on tumblr, please use one of the following tags for every single text post/picture/gif/graphic/quote etc. so that others can blacklist them on xkit/tumblr savior:
- City of Heavenly Fire spoilers
- CoHF spoilers
- TMI spoilers
Please be considerate and don’t spoil City of Heavenly Fire for the other fans! Tag your spoilers and use ‘read more’.
Furthermore, how about we wait until at least July 27 before we stop using the spoiler tags? This will give fans more than 8 weeks to read City of Heavenly Fire (unless you have other suggestions).

About that COHF excerpt
I’d swear last time I checked, Alec still had dignity. What the duck is he doing, letting his friends try to convince his ex-boyfriend to forgive him? Like, really??
Yes, yes to all this! Alec Lightwood is my baby, but i really dont understand this snippet at all. i’ve always thought Alec was the silently-suffering type. I mean he have to tell them everything at some point, you can hide that kind of thing forever, but i imagine he would act tough, not being pathetic like this.
Some can say Alec cant do anything about what his friends do, that he might not know about Clary, Simon,Izzy went to meet Magnus, but my version of Alec will at least tell them to stop, but no, this Alec seems to encourage Jace to go to his ex-boyfriend to convince him to forget him. Yeah, Alec is inexperience but you can’t use that excuse everytime he messed up. Hell, even i not that pathetic the first time someone broke up with me. Ever since the last chapter of TBC, I have a bad feeling about what Cassandra will do with Malec in CoHF. I hope she gives them an ending that they actually deserve, not some cheap cheesy happy ending just to satisfy the shippers
But imagine, Magnus curl up all alone in a dark, messy loft, eating takeout on his birthday and probably staring at Alec’s message on his phone all day. I bet he has been all happy prepare a party, or a romantic dinner/date with Alec by his side for months & then this ‘thing’ happens …
The fact that most of them had come to Magnus & try to talk about Malec break up is hilarious yet a little bit annoying to me. i mean it’s their problems & they should try to figure it out themselves, and i dont really like the fact that Alec let his friends did all that. On the other hands, it’s interesting that Magnus keeps letting them in while he said he dont want anything to with them anymore. Maybe Magnus himself hopes that one of them can actually convinve him to go back with Alec?
It smells like heartbreak in here
But!
What if …
Magnus & Alec are both alive
But they aren’t back together
And then we have to wait until The Dark Artifices for that …
so about this tweet
Remember when we thought that there will be story called “Letter” in the Bane Chronicles? But Cassie said it ended up being part of COHF? Maybe this is it. Maybe it’s Magnus’ letter and he survived and
to whom the fuck he writes letter then?
but what if magnus died and the letter is for alec and at the end of the book alec found it while visiting Magnus’ loft for the last time …..
Why the fuck did Magnus get arrested??????? I’M SO ANGRY
and Raphael looks so tiny what????
As much as I happy that Magnus forgives Alec, I still think it’s not entirely Alec’s fault so it should be more like “Magnus know where he was wrong & they forgive each other”
So my headcanon is true after all. Well, actually i thought Malec first date will involve demon hunting/ being attacked by demons, not exactly like in the snippet but we can see that Alec was doing some Shadowhunter stuffs, so yeah basically my headcanon is true ___ /
I’m both delighted & terrified because what if my others headcanon for cohf are true as well
