Lmao people complaining about Kanda’s “excessive” screentime in the upcoming tv series. In the manga he has the least appearances out of the main four till about the Phantom Thief G arc. After Martel he barely shows his face, and unlike the others he hardly has any interactions with anyone aside from his occasional bickering with Allen. After the Skinn fight (which is fairly short, considering the relative screentime given to the others on the Ark*) he has a really minor role too. Honestly the Alma arc just makes up for the fact that he practically disappears after Martel right upto the Ark arc.
*Kanda’s fight with Skinn was 5 chapters long. The one against Jasdevi was 11, and the one against Tykki and Road took up two volumes, including the chit-chat.
Kanda practically existed in a vacuum before Phantom Thief G. All the other main characters routinely interacted with each other, were fleshed out and given some really dramatic/heartbreaking/interesting scenes. And then Hoshino gave Kanda a well-deserved and long overdue backstory.

well i totally agree with you but i also understand what people are coming from, since kanda is the most popular character in the fandom (beside allen the main character of course) so some might feels like they have to hear about him all the freaking time (well, i’m one of those people) but it’s true that lavi – the character who disappear for years – still has more screentime than kanda ever did
Anyone else notice that Kanda has a penchant for befriending/getting stuck with the happy hyperactive ones?

I was re-reading some translations of Hoshino’s interview in CharaGray and apparently Kanda’s story was supposed to be completely different and the idea of Alma didn’t occur to her until 2008 so i did a little release date check and now i’m wondering
