Okay I also need to jump in on the Asher bandwagon. I really, really like Asher. I think he’s a character that’s not often portrayed. He has the stereotypes of a frat boy in many ways, yet he doesn’t have the emotional and moral connotations generally prescribed to frat boys.

He’s not really educated very well on social justice issues that a part of a lot of Tumblr users’ everyday lives. But dammit he tries hard.

He is accepting of Connor in his own way. He really tries to understand where everyone is coming from. And he stands up to his father when he finds out his father has been morally corrupt. And god the compassion that he finds for Bonnie – the love in his heart and the desire to help her through things – is so important.

I think I definitely want to see more of smart Asher. It’s funny because if we’re talking in terms of Harry Potter, I see Asher as a Hufflepuff. He is emotionally so drawn towards acceptance and love. But I would also like to move away from this idiot fratty stereotype that’s kind of been built up.
