don’t let anyone tell you that it’s a bad thing to feel things deeply. a full heart is a strong heart and being soft doesn’t make you weak. being soft and loving makes you radiant. you deserve all of the love in the world and so many good things.

This is what a real, qualified OBGYN will tell you about what women feel when they get an abortion

Dr. Willie Parker, who is trained as a gynecologist and OBGYN, is a hero for the pro-choice movement because he’s honest about the undiscussed aspects of getting (or not getting) an abortion. Watch how he gives a consultation.

That last statement about regret is so important, because so many people don’t understand what it is or what causes it. Anti-choicers exploit this by manipulating pregnant people and creating doubt, which only increases the likelihood of regret, no matter what decision the pregnant person makes. You know what is best for you, even if it takes some time to figure it out.

She’s not easy. She’s not always affectionate. She’s got her ups and downs, her good days and her bad. She’ll make you feel invincible one day and weak the next. She’ll scare you. That’s the way it is. You’ll be tempted to leave, to run. But you won’t. You’ll always come back because underneath it all she’s still perfect, because she’s still your world.

My 20s aren’t my selfish years. My 20s are my hustle decade. Finish school get money pay back my loans establish myself work hard to create the foundation of a good life so that I can enjoy what’s coming next. Like yes I’d love to backpack across India or something but I’m broke! I have bills! I could quit my job take my meager savings and go on a 2 month trip and then what??? no job no home cause I got kicked out for not paying rent lmao

Enough. Maybe your 20s were the funtime years decades ago but not anymore. Don’t feel like you’re wasting your life bc you’re not hitchhiking in Europe or something. You’re doing fine. You’re doing what you can and that’s all that matters.

you have no idea how much I needed this holy crap thank you

thank you

My uncle tells a story about this guy he used to know, dead for some years now, who in his retirement captured a bunch of stray cats and their kittens and took them to a shelter. The people at the shelter were like welp, what are we going to do with all these cats, we don’t have space. So the guy told them “I’ll make you a deal. You take these cats, get them fixed and rehabilitated, and I’ll take an equal number of your oldest cats that nobody is adopting and give them a home for the rest of their lives.”

And that happened. The shelter exchanged – I forget the exact number, if I ever heard it, but around ten old cats for ten young cats and kittens, and the guy took the old cats home. He lived in an old farmhouse so there was plenty of space, and when my uncle visited him,

the guy would be reading in a rocking chair on the porch, the ~ten cats just casually chilling on cushioned benches around him, and when he’d get up and say it’s time to go indoors, the cats would get up too and march in before him.

I wish I’d known him, but hey, #LifeGoals.

Burn survivor shares inspiring message through makeup

At nine years old, an accident left Shalom Nchom with visible burn scars on her face. Though she was stared at by her peers and adults, and sometimes brought to tears, Nchom did not let them get the best of her. She turned her attention to makeup and in middle school, made a career out of it.
