Friendly reminder that even the llama can’t stand Magnus playing music & the last time he did tango his shoe flied off & almost killed someone, so stop suggesting Magnus to have any talent in singing or dancing in the show thank you very much

You know what’s funny? Magnus isn’t supposed to have facial hair but they casted Godfrey Gao who has facial hair so now Magnus on the cover of The Bane Chronicles has facial hair and now the big question here is: Will TV Series!Magnus has facial hair or not?

I don’t know about you guys but i’m pretty sure they will keep Godfrey as Magnus in the TV Series.

First the problem here is not whether the company want to keep them or not (because it’s obvious that they do since the fans are already attached to the old cast), but more like whether the cast want to be back or not. I don’t know about others, but I know Godfrey & I know how Asian Showbiz usually works (well at least i hope so). Hollywood is a big deal if you are Asia, so Godfrey will be an idiot if he passes this oppotunity up.

Well, of course there is still this problem with busy schedule. I don’t know if Godfrey has any big project in 2015 (actually I don’t know anything about him lately other than some pics from Brave Heart & some photoshoots someone pls update me on him i’m dying in here) but Magnus doesn’t actually have a lot of screen time in the first 3 books so even if Godfrey has a new drama in Taiwan/China I think he can manage it. Of course i don’t want him to work himself to death but working constantly without a day off is pretty common in Asian showbiz (it’s crazy i know) – Godfrey himself said so in an interview i think? He was even surprised when he got a day off while filming CoB!

Oh and I saw someone said that Godfrey may not want to do TV Series I was like have you seen all the dramas he has been in????? From what I have seen, in the US actors & actresses who are famous for their roles in movies usually don’t do TV Series and vice versa. But that’s not how it works in Asian, people usually do both movies & tv series & most gain their fame from tv series first.

Last but not least! Filming in America means he can visit Canada & his parents & girlfriend easier, and he did said he want to spend time with his family more in the future the man is thinking about marriage i’m telling you  … gosh i’m still bitter

Overall, I really can see no reason for him to not play Magnus, unless I totally misunderstood Godfrey & Asian Showbiz, which I hope (& pretty sure) is not the case

Headcanons about Magnus’s relationships & Malec’s marriage

Does anyone else ever think that the reason why Magnus has so many lovers, beside his natural flirty nature & abnormally long life span, was because of some complex from childhood trauma? Like he always wanted to feel loved & constantly need somebody to love him because no one love him when he was a child?

And the reason why he never get married? I don’t think he never thought of it. But he kind of thought that people wouldn’t want to stay with him when they got old & he is not. In fact, many lovers did choose to leave him when they aged. So even if he wanted to marry someone, he never do anything about it, never think of proposing. And that habit remains even when he is with Alec. He believed Alec will stay with him until the end, but he assumed that they will just be together like this, as boyfriends/lovers for the rest of their Alec’s life. Then one day Alec proposed to him & he was speechless, because no one had ever chose to stay with him & no one had ever thought of spent their entire life with him & he was never been proposed in 400 years of his life so for the first time in a very long time he kind of don’t know what to react.

Lots of people think Magnus will be the one who proposed, because he is the romantic one, but I prefer a proposal from Alec. Opposite to people’s belief, Alec can actually take initiative in their relationship & in fact he did that a lot.

Someone might said “But they live together everyday, it isn’t important that they are married or not”. Let me tell you why it is important.

I once read a manga, where the boy is a warrior who went to dangerous battle everyday. He wanted to marry a girl who is in higher rank in society than him, which is difficult but not impossible, only it would cause not himself but his commander & teammates a lot of troubles. And his teammate asked him “Is it necessary to marry her? You two can remains lovers for the rest of your life. Isn’t it enough?” and the boy answered “It’s important because if we get married, she will be the first person who get the information if I die in battle. We live this dangerous life where nobody know when we are gonna die, this is the least I can promise her”.

Imagine if one day Alec died in his mission & they weren’t married, even if everyone knew they are together, the Clave will still tell his family first & let them tell Magnus later. But if they were officially married in Clave’s ceremony, Magnus will be Alec’s priority contact & get the straight information. Sometimes title is very important.

Headcanon time

I watched a science documentaries called “Can you live forever” & they said, your brain is like a hard drive, it has limited capacity storage, so if you live forever, some day your brain will be full & you can’t remember new things. So what if Magnus actually just has … bad memory, after 400 years of living, especially when it comes to people’s names. Not that his brain is full, but like he developed a habit of not remember names of ones he is not interested about, because he need space for more interesting things in his brain. 

Also, people usually said “Once you name it, you get attached to it”. Magnus is careful about getting attached to people, because he lost so many already. So Magnus doesn’t remember, or doesn’t want to remember others’ names is just a way to defend himself from getting hurt again.

I think they went with the ‘Asian inspired’ look because Cassie made a big deal about Magnus not being whitewashed. But I agree there should have been more glitter sparkles and colour! but whatever.

But it’s still irrelevant though because that loft is clearly chinese-inspired while Magnus is from Indonesia? Maybe they mistook because they casted Godfrey who is a Taiwanese. (And I don’t know about you guys but for us Asian, people from Southest Asia & East Asia look totally different so from an Asian’s POV Godfrey is not exactly the best choice, but from a fangirl’s POV i couldn’t have ask for someone better lol)

Malec – a different ending

Working on a real ending for Malec (because I cant satisfy with their ending in CoHF), here are what I come up so far:

First Magnus has to die. For whatever reason you can think of, but prefered a heroic one, for example saving Alec from a demon attack. They (Alec & friends) then summon a demon (it can be Magnus’ father to add more drama for the situation) to try to save Magnus from the death. (According to Cassie, powerful demons can do that, because Simon is technically dead before he becomes a vampire, now he is still alive. And Jace was dead once too)

Well, you know, because ‘All magic comes with a price’ so they have to pay something. and the demon want Alec’s life – a life for a life. Alec of course is willing to pay it, but others don’t let him it. So they come up with a solution, all of them will give up some years of their life.

For example, Alec’s fate is to live until he is 50, so he has around 30 years left, so the demon wants to take 30 years of Alec’s life. But instead everyone of them give up 6 years (6×5=30) – i only count Clary, Jace, Simon, Izzy & Alec here, but you can add more characters if you want, the more characters the less years they have to give up. 

But the demon thinks it’s too easy for them, so he want to add more condition: All the years Alec has left (30-6=24), he will have to give half to Magnus, so both him & Magnus can only live for 12 years more.

And last condition (because i’m a cruel person) is a classic one, when Magnus wakes up he will forget everything that ever happened in the TMI series, from the day he met Jocelyn Fairchild & baby Clary. He is still a warlock though (but he will have no idea that he can only live 12 years more). Don’t worry eventually he will remember just like Simon, but it will take a while, about 1 or 2 years.

With these, finally Magnus can get rid of immortality, they can be together but only for 10 years (honestly it’s quite romantic when you think about it, they can die together AT THE EXACT SAME TIME how cool is that huh. Imagine both of them curl up together on a bed, whisper I love you to each other before both pass away, they can literally die in each others’ arms)

Yes, that’s my final solution for Malec. What do you think? Is it bittersweet enough or should i add more? Maybe 10 years is too long, should i make it 5? (And at moment like this i wonder if i’m a sadist). Of course there are a lot of plot holes (for example, demon always want something that benefit them but all theses condition doesn’t benefit anyone at all) because i just think of it an hour ago, i’m still trying to solve them so the story can be more realistic
