I still makes no sense to me, Alec is the character with the biggest character development of them all.
I think it didn’t meant Alec himself, but more like What Alec want (but again, it doesn’t fit well with what Cassie said about Alec doesnt want immortality). Or maybe he doesn’t want Magnus to change his heart, or Magnus doesn’t want Alec to change his personality. Or maybe it just simply means he doesn’t need to change himself for anyone else, doesn’t need to pretend he is straight or turn himself immortal for Magnus
i’m actually really really tired of reading fanfic and headcanons about magnus bane in which he flirts with everyone, wants to have sex all the time, is pushy about getting alec to do sexual things alec is uncomfortable with, etc.
- magnus does not flirt with anything that moves.
- magnus has taste. remember in “Kissed”: “But do you like me? Because this being gay business doesn’t mean you can just throw yourself at any guy and it’ll be fine because he’s not a girl. There are still people you like and people you don’t.” being bisexual doesn’t mean he’s interested in everyone, guys.
- magnus does not find everyone attractive. (case in point: jace herondale, who is someone many people find attractive.)
- magnus can find someone attractive and still not be interested in them sexually or romantically. (case in point: will herondale.)
- magnus is monogamous. (he was going to be faithful to camille for eternity, and was incredibly hurt when she wouldn’t do the same for him!)
- magnus is respectful. idk if i can even provide a specific example for this because it’s right there in everything he ever does. he’s not gonna be pushing people to do something they don’t want to do (except, i suppose, when he wanted alec to come out to his parents, but that was a perfectly fair request, and he left it up to alec to do what he wanted in the end, anyway, he didn’t force anything).

- and by the way, alec kind of accused him of sleeping with everyone he’s ever met in city of fallen angels, and magnus got pretty offended.

This time I have to disagree with you. Yes, immortality was one of their issues but that person were asking about the reason they broke up, and immortality is definitely not the reason they broke up with each other, it’s just a problem that they need to solve
Ooh no, it’s definitely not the only part, but I do think it helped along the way. So I think she should have said that it was part of the issue, but not all of it ( like you posted above). Since I think it was definitely an issue, as I named in the examples above. And she is again turning the mortality issues into a non issue for them, where there is a lot of proof in the books, it is/was. technically speaking they broke because Alec wanted to shorten Magnus life and Magnus used that as part of an excuse to push Alec away and save himself the pain of having Alec leave him someday. But that is interpretation I suppose.
I think Magnus actually broke up with Alec just because he is angry at that moment. When you find out the one you love lied to you like that, it’s easy to lose your temper & do stupid thing. After that when he clamed down he forgave Alec, but then he thought sbout getting back together & he might think it’s a good chance to cut his tie with Alec. In short, in my opinion, the “save himself the pain of having Alec leave him someday” come after the break up. So i still thing immortality have nothign to do with the break up.
If he used the break up as an excuse like you said, it makes it looks like he planned to break up with Alec for a while & just wait for Alec made mistake so he can broke up with him which is … not what i think about Magnus

MAGNUS BANE’S HALF SISTERS/BROTHERS IS A TOPIC THAT MIGHT BE REOPENED AND I’M EXCITEDI already have a head canon for this scenario! CC has confirmed that Malec will adopt, possibly a warlock child, but that child turns out to be Magnus’ half-sibling. And maybe they don’t realize the connection until her warlock mark (her cat’s eyes) appears.
I doubt it will be the case. If Malec adopt a girl then i assume the girl will be small (around 10?), & I think Magnus’ father wasn’t around human world for a long time, so he can’t have a child that small. Also warlock ages just like human until late teens (around 18-19, since most warlocks in the series look young), so she can’t be a hundred years old who looks 10 (& if she is a hundred years old she won’t need someone to adopt her). I love the idea Magnus have siblings, but i prefer it to be a badass female warlock who have the power like Magnus. I know we have female warlock ike Catarina & Tessa but their abilities are not for fight in battle & i want see a female warlock who kick ass
