I think they went with the ‘Asian inspired’ look because Cassie made a big deal about Magnus not being whitewashed. But I agree there should have been more glitter sparkles and colour! but whatever.

But it’s still irrelevant though because that loft is clearly chinese-inspired while Magnus is from Indonesia? Maybe they mistook because they casted Godfrey who is a Taiwanese. (And I don’t know about you guys but for us Asian, people from Southest Asia & East Asia look totally different so from an Asian’s POV Godfrey is not exactly the best choice, but from a fangirl’s POV i couldn’t have ask for someone better lol)

I’m still pissed because they made Magnus’ loft so ugly in the movie. I was like ‘HOW CAN HE AND ALEC HAVE SEXY TIME IN THAT UGLY LOFT’ then I remember Magnus changes his furnitures every now & then so they can easily change the design in the next movie i’m so stupid lol I’m gonna make Magnus’ loft photoset now
