Anon asked me how I made this Johnlock/Sherlock graphic, and since the bottom picture of that graphic is basically a screen capture with a Gradient Map and a PSD thrown on top of it, I’m just going to explain how I made the top picture. (I apologize in advance, I’m not thatgood at doing tutorials)

I was asked how I made the background of the top gif in this gifset all the same colour. There’s a short answer, but it doesn’t look as good, so I wrote a tutorial going through how I made that gif. The tutorial assumes some familiarity with using adjustment layers and layer masks and is gif-heavy.

So I just discovered a pretty cool Photoshop trick.
I think a lot of us that make graphics have been in the situation where you want to remove a model from their background but they have that darned wispy windblown look and their hair is all over the place. Using layer masks to remove backgrounds while keeping hair intact is exhausting, so let’s not do that anymore if we don’t have to.
Here’s the model that I’m working with for a photomanip I’m doing
Colouring tutorial
I’m still getting a lot of messages asking how I coloured these gifsets (1, 2, 3, 4) so I thought I’d make a post explaining exactly what I did. It’s really easy to achieve; all you need to know is how to gif and how to colour a gif (or how to use a psd if you don’t want to colour it).
I’m gonna start out with this gif
