I don’t get why people are so upset about Alec getting married in the show. Like, we all know he won’t actually get married. But we can get a scene of Magnus running to the chapel afraid he might be too late after he realizes he loves Alec so much that he can’t let him go. Imagine the look on Alec’s face when he sees Magnus there. IMAGINE THE TENSION AND THE DRAMA AND THE AMOUNT OF MALEC WE WILL GET BECAUSE OF THAT

that’s exactly the problem with it. too cliché, too much drama. malec and this book series had enough cheap drama already, there is no need for more

Yall need to chill the fuck down, like just because Alec’s first smile IN THE SHOW is with Magnus doesnt mean he didnt smile his entire life jfc.
First the show is from Clary’s POV so we will mostly see Alec when she is there and Alec hates Clary especially when she is with Jace so ofc he wont smile. second it’s only a few days since the point the show starts where Alec meet Clary to the point he meet Magnus, and Clary cant be with him 24/7 in those few days to see him smile with Jace or Izzy or his family (as for me im all for alec doesnt smile with jace since jace is an asshole why should someone smile at him)
The problem is y’all should stop acting like you care about alec since the exact thing already happened in the movie, Alec didnt smile either until the scene with magnus, and none of you noticed or complaint about it until now. If you dont even like Alec then you should spend your time thinking about your life choice and leaving the judging for us who actually care about him in the first place bye

sorry for the late reply, i read your post a few days ago i only have time for a proper answer today :-< 

the thing i worry the most about show!Magnus is that he looks the same as movie!Magnus. I dont know how to explain it but with every other characters, the new actors give different vibes compared to the old cast, except Harry. The clothes are the same, the feelings are the same (and his eyeliner isn’t even as good as godfrey!). While movie!Magnus is gorgeous and perfect, he actually doesn’t fit the character’s descriptions from the book at all. Now i don’t say show!Magnus have to be exactly like the book, but with the show they have a chance to do something different with Magnus, but no they chose the safe way and create a less fabulous copy of movie!Magnus, hell, they even keep the facial hair which is only looks good when it’s godfrey (okay, maybe not, this is just godfrey’s fangirl talking, but honestly harry really looks better without it). As you said, Harry has a very big shoes to fill, and the way they chose to portray Magnus in the show will make it even harder for him coz people (well, me at least) will never stop compare him to godfrey
