Finished my exams yesterday and somehow managed to get the correct software on my dad’s laptop for my drawing tablet… Which means, this guy is finally back in the fanart business*wipes away tear of joy* god, I’ve missed it so much.

I’m so excited about the Shadowhunter series as well, so I did some fanart (of cassandraclare‘s book characters because I reread it recently), and because I love these girls! And I drew Clary with short hair, because when I was re-reading City of Bones it said she had hair half the length of Jocelyn’s, and I like bobs

What she says: I’m fine
What she means: What was the point of Max Lightwoods death? was it to show that even the innocent aren’t safe from war? Was it to establish Sebastian as a villain? Was it to show the cracks in the Lightwood family? and if that was the case, why did we never get to see the Lightwood kids talk about this? Their brother died and they never spoke about it after. How did this death effect their relationship with their parents? How did his death effect their relationship with each other? And why did Jace get a P.O.V after Max’s death, when he only considered Alec his brother? And what about Hodge? he was basically part of their family even if he betrayed the them and he was murdered in front of Jace and Alec. Why was his death not talked about? why is his character not talked about? he clearly cared about them, if he didn’t, Alec would have died from the demon poisoning. Why are these two characters– who were major influences in the Lightwood family, forgotten so easily?

Question About “Shadowhunters” Casting

Okay, the one thing I question about the Lightwoods being mixed-race is…I feel like a lot of their characters, as people, came from their privilege. Part of the divide between Alec and Magnus was that Alec comes from this place of safety that Magnus doesn’t have, either as a POC or as a warlock….

I guess it depends on if the show goes along with what Cassie said in that race is treated differently in the shadowhunter world. If it is, I don’t think their attitudes would change because they have little to no interaction with the mundane world and wouldn’t be surprised if they were completely oblivious to the racism. Being shadowhunters they may not have  experienced any discrimination for being POC or coming from a mixed family so they would have that empathy for downworlders or share that experience.

Question About “Shadowhunters” Casting

Cassie liked her, apparently! If you don’t believe in Kat, at least believe in Cassie. She wouldn’t comment on it at all if she didn’t like her.

leightaylorwrites:

  1. Cassie’s opinion on acting ability doesn’t mean anything to me because she said Jamie/Kevin/Godfrey were all good as their characters, and though they LOOKED the part, their acting wasn’t good.
  2. I love Cassie and all, but she does have a tendency to support anything with the adaptations and then change her mind later on. She was really supportive of the movie before it came out but when fans saw it sucked, Cassie was suddenly like “oh, yeah, it wasn’t very good.”

I trust Cassie’s opinions on some things, but on acting ability… no.
