Arrow-inspired AU-idea #20 – extended!

freakypumpkin:

So, I wrote this one the other day and then I had the idea for an actual Arrow-related plot for that thing 😀 and I thought (as my medication seems to be working) I’d share it with you before my brain turns to mush again …

So, we have Alec as the heir of the Lightwood family. Jace is his adoptive brother and if you want to keep in the plot with the ‘stranded on a seriously dangerous island’, then they would have been there together and bonded and decided that some things happened they’d never talk about again. (as an equivalent to their parabatai bond :3) I can’t say much about it though because I’m at episode 15 and that island-thing has yet to completely make sense to me.

Moving on: They come back to the city (maybe they’ve been stranded when they’ve been younger than Oliver Queen), they get sent to a special boarding school to get out of the way of the press and other pressure. Izzy transfers to that school because hell no, she’s letting her brothers leave again.

Okay, Robert has been killed on that boat trip and he left them the list of bad guys in their city. At school after a few sessions with therapists and so on, Alec and Jace decide that they want to make a difference in the city and bring down those that … maybe have corrupted Robert into doing bad stuff or something else. (I have yet to find out who was responsible and how exactly that damn boat went down in the show.)

So, when they get back, they buy/rent an abandoned building where they intent to start up a night club as cover identity. They also start working as interns in the family business of the Lightwoods to get access to resources. Then they go after the bad guys at night Alec with a bow and arrow and Jace … with something else, a sword? Or maybe guns … who knows.

Magnus is the head of the IT department at the Lightwood firm and gets involved with requests for research that include Alec’s complete inability to come up with believable lies. Of course, he ends up working for them in their secret hideout. And maybe there was a crush going on between him and Alec, but things only start to really get heated when Magnus becomes officially a part of ‘Team Arrow’.

As things move on, Alec and Jace become full-fledged employees at the firm and Alec has to go on a business trip for a few weeks/months. And right before he leaves the first kiss with Magnus happens and he doesn’t get a chance to talk about it because Magnus hides in his apartment. So, when Alec gets back he comes to Magnus’ place first looking at him and going
“What the hell, man? You kiss me and then cut off all contact for the whole time of this bloody trip, not returning any calls …” and so on. They have a very emotional talk about where they stand now, definitely a few kisses, maybe more.

At first Magnus and Alec try to act lowkey about their relationship because they want to ‘stay professional’, but that only earns them eye rolls from Jace and the ‘Get a room’-line a couple of times.

Clary comes into the mix as the daughter of a victim of the bad guys … oh, or maybe the lawyer? :3 And the daughter of Luke, the detective or Jocelyn, the detective, who was promised to bring down the ‘masked guys’.

THIS IS AN OFFICIAL MAYDAY. I CANNOT SURVIVE THIS SHIRTLESS SCENE WITHOUT SOMEONE WRITING CONNOR TRYING TO SEDUCE OLIVER/PROVE A POINT. JULES. I BEG YOU. WE ALL HAVE A MIGHTY NEED

Author’s note: Thanks to monicashipscoliver and falafelhee. This sort came from post and replies and asks and such from them. You two are amazing. ❤ (also, i’m ashamed of myself…)

From the kitchen, waiting for popcorn to finish popping, Connor cocked his head to squint. What was Oliver doing on the couch?

The microwave beeped and he pulled the popcorn out. Dumping it in a bowl and grabbing his water glass, Connor walked back over but paused before sitting down.

“What the fuck is this?” he asked, gesturing with the bowl to the mound of pillows Oliver’d assembled between their spots on the couch.

“It’s a pillow wall,” Oliver said. He sat back to look at his work, reaching over to adjust one of them. Looking up at Connor, he went on, “It’s to…you know…stop…things…”

“Stop things?” Connor repeated.

Oliver nodded and looked down at the pillow wall, missing Connor’s epic eye roll as he sat down.

They’d been over this. They took precautions. They were safe. Connor had no problem at all being patient with Oliver and tried to be nothing but understanding. But then Oliver did semi-ridiculous things like assemble pillow walls to keep them from cuddling while watching movies and Connor felt his understanding strain.

Connor said nothing, however, as he sat down on the couch and put the popcorn bowl and glass down on the coffee table. He nodded a little, letting Oliver know to push play again, and they settled in to watch the movie. The pillow wall firm between them.

The scene they were in the middle of had hardly begun when Connor turned. Conversationally, he said, “Is it hot in here?”

Oliver turned, handful of popcorn to his mouth. “No.” He shook his head. “I’m okay. But I can open a-”

“No. That’s okay.” Connor grinned, silly and wide. “I’m just gonna take off my pants.”

“What?” Oliver watched as Connor stood up and stripped down. Socks. Pants. Boxers. “Connor!”

Ignoring him, Connor sat back down on the couch – taking off his sweater and dropping it down with the rest. “And there goes the shirt.” Rearranging the blanket, Connor turned to Oliver as if nothing happened. “Much better now.”

Connor leaned back. Linking his fingers to rest is head back against, he surveyed Oliver’s pillow fort with a knowing grin. He’s eyes flicked up to meet Oliver’s, full of promise and heat.

“What exactly is this supposed to stop again?”

ramblesandreblogs:

It’s silly and small but Connor loves that he can still get Oliver a little flustered after all these months. As much as Oliver tries to play it off that he’s become immune to Connor’s ways, with I know you now, Connor Walsh and That doesn’t work on me anymore, Oliver’s still just as susceptible to Connor as always and Connor loves it.

He gets a little thrill when he stands just a bit too close and gets to watch as the tips of Oliver’s ears turn a little red and the blush slips down Oliver’s neck.

He adores how he can stare just a bit too long and hear Oliver’s voice jump an octave or two with the harmless Cut it out, Connor, which is almost always followed by Oliver avoiding eye-contact and Connor chasing it, wearing a grin he just knows is ridiculous.

But Connor’s favorite has to be how adorably clumsy Oliver gets when Connor touches him unexpectedly.

A light hand to the back of his neck and Oliver bumbles the phone in his hand.

Connor hooks his foot around Oliver’s under the table and Oliver’s silverware clatters, dropped against the plate.

At the bar, Connor leans in, his hips slotted behind Oliver’s and his chin hooked on Oliver’s shoulder; Connor slips an arm around Oliver’s waist just as he turns to press his lips to the side of Oliver’s neck and Oliver’s hand trembles, the drink spilling on his shirt. The glare Oliver sends him is meant to be a warning but Connor just presses a fond smile into Oliver’s shoulder and mumbles an insincere sorry.

Connor’s not even sure what it is but something about seeing this quiet but self-assured, self-confident man of his nervous and blushing stirs something in him. It’s predatory and protective. And as much as he knows he really should cut it out he just can’t seem to stop himself.

Malec: And This is How it Starts.

freakypumpkin:

thewholocked:

This is for the lovely freakypumpkin who wanted a friends to lovers AU!

Title taken from ‘Sex’ by The 1975.

Warning: Mentions of manipulation.

Alec walked down the hall telling himself to get it together. Middle school was not scary, no one would hurt him, he would get through the classes, he would meet good friends, he would make his father proud. His grip on the strap of his bag tightened and he pulled the sleeves of his sweater so they were covering his palms. The corridor was full of people chatting, joking around, shouting at each other, telling each other stories of their holidays. Alec hated the noise, he preferred empty corridors, libraries, people that were not his siblings made Alec uncomfortable and he usually preferred to be alone. Alec turned into a corner where he hoped his locker was, it was definitely this corridor, when he bumped hard into someone scattering their belonging on the floor.

‘Oh my God,’ Alec said bending down to pick up the notebooks and an…eyeliner? ‘I am so sorry.’

He looked up to see the most peculiar eyes staring back at him. They were green but they reflected gold as well. The boy was Asian with jet black hair and eyes decorated with eyeshadow.

‘It’s fine,’ the boy said smiling good naturally. ‘It’s my fault I wasn’t looking. I’m Magnus, Magnus Bane.’ Magnus took the books Alec offered to him and asked for his name.

‘I’m Alec,’ Alec mumbled at him, staring at his feet. ‘Short for Alexander.’

‘Nice to meet you, Alec short for Alexander,’ Magnus grinned at him making the blue-eyed boy go redder. ‘I hope I’ll see you in one of my classes.’

With that Magnus walked away and Alec watched the way he had a skip in his step, like he was happy and care-free. Alec wondered what that felt like. He looked down and realized he was still holding Magnus’s eyeliner in his hand.

Oh my gosh, thank you so much!!! ❤ I love it! And it was so cute and so …

monicashipscoliver:

So Jules had this great idea that this line could be Coliver. Now, it could also be someone getting murdered lol, BUT let’s au where murder doesn’t happen pls thank. Jules’s beautiful fic is here. Mine is below 🙂 They’re unrelated, we just both wanted to write something hehe ❤

Oliver worries his hands together. It doesn’t help.

“I don’t understand,” Connor says from the seat beside him on the couch. He’s clutching a pillow to his chest, looking small and lost, and Oliver hates himself a little bit more.

“It’s an out, Connor.” Oliver’s practiced this several times in the mirror, but that was nothing compared to now – to say this to Connor’s face. He has to say most of it to the pillow, or to the floor. “I know dating me is… complicated now. You don’t have to…” God, he can’t say it. He wants Connor to stay. More than anything. But they were already on shaky ground. How can he ask Connor to start taking medicine? To come with him to appointments and ask questions? “It’s an out.”

“Oliver.” Connor sounds desperate, but Oliver can’t tell if it’s real or not. He can’t look at Connor to tell. That would break him. He has to be strong.

“You can l-leave,” Oliver says. His voice only breaks once. He looks up at the ceiling to fight off the tears.

“What? Oliver, no.”

So falaheejackoff and I were talking and she said:

So you know how Oliver and Connor went to get tested together and then Connor was at Keating’s the whole day, dealing with the Rebecca situation and he missed a call from Oliver? and Oliver had previously told him he tested negative so Connor thought ‘Oh I’ll just drop later’ bc he was preoccupied but Oliver probably called him bc he couldn’t lie to Connor anymore and he wanted to tell him, needed to, but when Connor didn’t pick up, he had to deal with it by himself 😦 cry4ollie

Through my tears, I wrote this:

Now I can’t help imagining Oliver getting the call from the nurse. He was dressed for work when they were at the clinic so he probably got the call at work.

The clinic pops up on his phone screen and he ducks out of his cubical. At a loss for where to go, the break room is a no – too many people – and the cafeteria is out for the same reason, Oliver sneaks off into the stairwell and prays he doesn’t lose service.

The whole call is a blur. He’d thought he’d be negative. He’d already prepped himself for what he would say when they called to tell him he was negative. He can’t be positive. He just can’t. He doesn’t have a speech ready.

connor and oliver going grocery shopping and whenever oliver’s not looking, connor will sneak in junk food into shopping cart bc he refuses to eat oliver’s rabbit food. yuk. – via falaheejackoff

Author’s note: Bonnie’s cute headcanons are gonna kill me…

The first few times they go, Connor tries to be really sneaky when he adds sugary cereal and cookies and the bulk bag of candy corn into the cart. Distracting Oliver while he tosses stuff in. Strategically hiding boxes of Pop Tarts under boxes of whole wheat pasta and bags of granola. Oliver just rolls his eyes when they pile everything on the checkout belt and he really sees just how much stuff Connor added.

“You know you can get whatever you want,” Oliver reminds as they unpack the bags in 303.

Connor stops hiding his stash of junk behind the healthy food in the pantry. “Wha?”

“The cereal and cookies and – crap.” Oliver gestures to the loot Connor’s hiding away. “You don’t have to hide it. I don’t care.”

“You don’t?”

“Well, I care that you’re putting too many chemicals into your body but-” Oliver shrugs. “You’re a grown man. I’m not telling you what you can and cannot eat.” Then, trying to add a little bit of levity into the situation, Oliver picks up a bag of kale chips and waves it in Connor’s face. “Except these. These are mine. Don’t eat them.”

Connor scoffs. “As if I would ever eat your rabbit food.”

But knowing Oliver doesn’t mind takes some of the fun out of sneaking junk food for Connor. Plus, if he’s being honest, it kinda upsets his stomach now. He isn’t sleeping as well as he should and seems tired too often in the middle of the day.

The next time they head to the store, Connor still adds some less than healthy stuff to the cart but not as much as before. When Oliver shoots him a furtive look, Connor just reminds, “We need to get more Greek yogurt. And not any Key Lime ones; those are nasty.”

That night, Oliver holds out his bag of kale chips as they watch TV and Connor takes one. Biting in, Connor thinks that maybe eating a little better will be good for him. Maybe he’s turning over a new leaf. Maybe this is all part of growing up.

Two bites in and he spits the chip out into a tissue. Stealing Oliver’s water, Connor downs the glass in one gulp. The chip tasted like dirt.

He can probably get on board with eating better but he’s never voluntarily eating a kale chip again.

Malec prompt – Study Anger

freakypumpkin:

Prompt: We hate each other but apparently our teachers ship us and make us partner up all the time and sit next to each other and for the love of God if you don’t shut your mouth I’m gonna shove you on the desk and sNOG THE HELL OUT OF YOU from this post

It didn’t quite go as expected and I had to cut it short in the end because it was getting to long … hope you still like it. 🙂 Also, for welovesandalwood, in case you’r interested ^^

-+-

Magnus didn’t understand how somebody this cute and caring could be so damn infuriating, but Alec Lightwood seemed to be eager to prove that this contradiction indeed existed. The first time they’d been assigned partners on a group project by their english teacher, Magnus had been ecstatic, but it hadn’t taken him long to realize that as far as studying and organization went, they didn’t mix … at all. Where Alec wanted to start at the top, Magnus was all for going from left to right, and while Alec worked best in the morning, Magnus couldn’t bring himself to care about anything school-related before noon. Yet their teachers seemed to be eager for them to work out their differences which led to Alec and Magnus being paired up for every damn assignment there was, even those that usually required people of opposite genders to be paired up or when the teacher mentioned before that there should be at least three people.

So, now they were sitting in an empty classroom to talk about some poem that Magnus had yet to read because refused to hand over the paper they’d gotten from their teacher. And the only reason he’d gotten out of the Lightwood boy was ‘because you doodle on the edges’.

“Okay, one last time, Alexander-”

“No.” Alec held the sheet of paper protectively against his chest. “I can read it to you and-”

“Yes, I’m aware of the fact that you can read, but I can’t remember stuff when only hearing it.”

“I don’t care, the last time we had crappy flowers all over the place of that chem assignment.”

“And the teacher didn’t care because it’s chem, not art and-”

“I cared! It was all messy and you could barely see the notes-”

“-and how dare you call my flowers crappy.” Being finally fed up wit everything Magnus simple got up trying to forcefully take that damn poem from his ‘partner’, but Alec was quick to react, getting up to and stumbling farther along the row of seats, always holding the poem out of Magnus’ reach. How did he do that anyway? Magnus was taller than him, but the little weasel had unbelievably fast reflexes.

“Well, you suck at drawing!”

“You suck at chemistry!”

Alec looked at him with pure indignation written across his face. “You take that back! I worked hard to get that C last year.” Magnus growled lunging again for the poem. They were getting closer and closer to the wall at the end of the row now which should put an end to Alec’s escape. The poem flitted from right to left while Alec kept going on about chemistry. “Do you know how hard it is to be taken seriously with struggling in chemistry? It’s always only – ah, no, you’re not getting that poem – everybody only sees my brilliant mother and they always think – Hands off! – ‘Why are you struggling? Don’t you have the genes of your mother?’ It is the worst conversation on family dinners ever and don’t-”

At one point Magnus had just seized Alec’s baggy sweater, pulled him close and kissed him square on the mouth which finally shut the other up. Just to be sure and for definitely no other reason than that, he wrapped the other arm around Alec’s waist and held him close while they were both caught breathless and in utter silence.

“You finally stopped talking,” Magnus muttered. He had to say that the current situation felt better than he’d had expected and if he tilted his head a bit, he could maybe nip at the side of the other’s neck …

Alec who had stared at him with big, round eyes suddenly looked down and bit his lower lip which wasn’t exactly helping to get rid of the building tension between them. “Was that the only reason you kissed me? If you want me to stop talking, you can just tell me, you know.” There was poorly hidden pain in Alec’s voice. “I’m not stupid, you know.” He pushed against Magnus’ shoulders, trying to get him to let go, but Magnus didn’t let him. Instead he made Alec look up at him with the hand that had been holding the front of the other’s sweater. His thumb gently brushed over Alec’s lips. Blue eyes held a silent challenge, but Magnus could only smile.

“I know.”

It was the first kiss of many that day. Though when Magnus and Alec started dating about a week later, they promised each other to never study together.

Connor swallows once as Oliver adjusts the ties at Connor’s wrists. Checking the tightness, Oliver runs a finger under the cloth, brushing the delicate skin of Connor’s wrist and Connor shivers a little at the touch.

“You okay?” Oliver asks, looking down to catch Connor’s nod. “Cold?” Connor just shakes his head and Oliver smiles as he goes back to checking the restraints.

He lightly tugs on the silk, checking the hold against the headboard, before trailing his fingers slowly, deliberately, down Connor’s arms, leaving little goose bumps in his wake. Connor shivers again but Oliver takes delight in it this time.

“You still okay?” Oliver asks, kneeling next to Connor on the bed and threading a hand through Connor’s hair.

Connor’s smile is wicked and his tone’s teasing and light. “Please. You don’t have to do this. I’ll be good. I swear. I’ll be goo—”

Drummer | Malec

timelessarmourforalexander:

prompt: “you’re the drummer for my brothers band and i find you really hot” from a list of au prompts  "where Magnus is the drummer of Jace’s band and Alec is just a mess when it comes to him"

suggested by anon, thank you! I’m sorry its nothing like you probably had in mind, Alec isn’t really a mess, but I think its okay because its funny. At least I think.

(not taking any prompt requests)

Alec awoke to the sound of drumming for the third time this week alone, his heart pounding from the sound that disrupted his sleep and stunned him. Of course it wasn’t the first time he awoke like this, wide eyed and confused, but he should have seen it coming. This week had been nice to him, it was only the third time he woke up like this from loud drumming; last week it was almost every morning; and it didn’t help that Jace was practicing on his electric guitar either (the rest of the band usually came later, it was mostly Magnus and Jace up early in the morning practising).

Magnus. Alec felt his face heat up at the thought. He’d already been introduced to him by Jace (he kind of had to since the morning he first met him, Alec was only in a really small pair of shorts, he blamed Jace for doing the washing that week) Magnus seemed pretty keen on meeting the kid, and who could blame him; are you planning on doing a catwalk for us then, Alec? Magnus had said, elongating Alec’s name with a smirk. Alec swore that day Jace was never going to do the washing ever again, and cursed every time Jace said he wanted to.

And with the vital less learned, Alec never went down to the basement without an extra layer of clothing; he wasn’t risking anything, even more so when Magnus had asked him out for a coffee only yesterday, which Alec had responded with I’ll think about it; and by thinking about, he meant smile about, and tell him yes the next morning trying to play hard to get; but to his luck Jace was all over him.
