It depends on what kind of gif you’re making. If the gif you’re making has gaussian blur, then you’re more likely to have noise/grain appear on your gifs. However, if your gif doesn’t contain a vast amount of gradients/blurred out background, it should be alright (usually). Click here and you will see how blur effects the gifs overall quality. You can see the first gif has noise and this is because the background has been unfocused, but the second and third gif is a lot cleaner. This is because it’s focused more on a subject and there isn’t much in shot.
However a big reason people people have grain/noise show up on their gifs is because they don’t have the right settings. These are my settings:
This is what my gifs look like with those settings:
(Make sure you’ve copied my settings). Try to keep your colours the maximum it will allow you (256), which is because it won’t lower the quality of your gif as much. You can keep your gifs under the tumblr limit by removing frames, which also makes your colours higher, or by clicking on the symbol that points down and has three horizontal lines (makes the colours lower but it lowers your MB/K):
You can get this up when you’re saving your gifs as a web device. You then need to click “Optimize to File Size”.
Once you have clicked this, type in 2000 as your “desired K”.
(I don’t know why that picture is so big – ignore the size, you get the point). This is so it can lower your gifs MB, which makes you able to upload it onto tumblr.
Back to making your gifs look smooth and like your original photoshop gif, you can make it black and white, which makes the noise and grain reduce vastly! Example:
Some of you may or may not have heard, but Toranoana and Tenso are now working together to deliver goods overseas! Now everyone can buy doujinshis and support their artists and their work more! 🙂 I decided to write a guide for those who want to buy from the website, but don’t understand Japanese. I hope this proves to be useful! If you want more information on Tenso and their fees, shipping etc., feel free to research their website here!
Yeah, I promised to write a guide myself, but then there’s already this guide so I guess you can all just follow it if you want to order doujinshi from Toranoana ヽ(・∀・ )ノ キャッ キャッ
These are for all the people who were asking me how to I got my djs by Gusari from this post.
If you find anything confusing in this guide, don’t hesitate to ask me here, or if you want to get things answered quickly I’m almost always online on Twitter! It would be much faster to just contact me there since I can keep that open while I’m at work (*´ω`*)
Enjoy your shopping on Toranoana! ☆・:゚*オォヾ(o´∀`o)ノォオ*゚:・☆
P.S. Please share this with other people might also be interested. Or reblog it for your followers to know. Let’s support doujin artists o/
PAYPAL IS TRYING TO SLIP THE RUG UNDER US. Or they may have said this and just no one read about it or noticed/knew.
OKAY SO BEFORE YOU SEND ANY MONEY FOR THAT AWESOME COMMISSION YOU WANT TO BUY FROM THAT AWESOME ARTIST. PLEASE STOP AND READ THIS.
Paypal changed the look of how you will fill out information and send money. Thus, you need to be super careful. Don’t go all willy nilly through and be like “Yeah yeah yeah send” you need to stop when you see this screen right away.
Before you proceed, you will first notice one major thing: your address is showing. What you need to do if you are ordering a DIGITAL WORK (aka, it is being sent to you via the interwebz) is you need to click on your address and there around be a drop down menu of 3 (or more) options:
No address needed
Your Current Address
+ Add a new shipping address
Be sure to select “No address needed”, it is very important that you do. If you leave your address in there, Paypal will assume that you are to receive a physical package. A physical package which needs proof that exists physically. Paypal will want the artist to provide shipping labels and tracking info on said package. This is bad, very, very bad. Artists can get in trouble if they cannot provide these things.
Please, if an artist asks to send you back your money so that you can send it again correctly, do not be offended. You are paying them to do your commission, how can they do your commission with no money?
Reblog this, send this around, if you want to make a proper tutorial go ahead, I hope this was clear enough as it is.
Important!!!
And in case the buyer does do this, there is a work around. All you have to do is click on the transaction and go to “edit tracking info” at the bottom.
Then go to order status and set to “Processed/Service Rendered.”
This will let paypal know that the order was a digital good, and no shipping was required.
You just have to check your incoming payments and make sure to do this if this does happen. Cause you aren’t notified otherwise. And you really only get in trouble if left unnoticed.
This Company Makes Exact Plush Toy Copies Of Your Pets
The Cuddle Clones toy company makes custom plush-toy replicas of pets from photos sent in by their clients.
The company’s founder, Jennifer Graham, came up with the idea for custom plushies when hanging out with her Great Dane, Rufus. When he passed away in 2009, she finally created a stuffed-animal replica, and now other users have also started memorializing their pets with Cuddle Clones. Of course, two heads are better than one – you can get a plushie if your pet is perfectly healthy as well.
Change a Tumblr Text Link to “Open Link in a New Window”: With the revamp in posting forms, the checkbox to “open link in new window” disappeared. Most Dashboard post links do open in a new window — except for some going to Tumblr-hosted sites. So if you’re clicking a link from the Dashboard to one of my related posts, you could lose your spot on the Dash.
While Tumblr might fix this in a future update, I use HTML to force the link to open in a new tab or window.
